Making Future Success Possible
Project BEAR’s mission is conveyed in the name: BEAR stands for Building Emerging and Achieving Readers.
Our members provide direct literacy instruction to young children, birth-age six, building early literacy skills. Focusing on oral language development, phonological awareness, and print knowledge, BEAR members facilitate the growth of necessary skills to be successful.
Members engage students directly partnering with classroom teachers in nearly 65 classrooms throughout Lawrence, Pike, and Scioto counties. Additional support and parent education events are provided throughout Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Pike, Scioto, and Vinton counties. Our goal is to lead by example and promote evidence-based practices in our community.
