- U.S. Citizenship
- Maintain full-time, degree-seeking student status (12+ credit hours each semester)
- File the FAFSA
- Submit a
- Maintain 2.0 GPA to renew annually
- Scholarship is limited to 4 years or 8 semesters
How to Apply
To be considered for the Matt Matthews Early Arrival Scholarship, incoming students will need to submit a personal biography that includes examples of any adversity you have overcome in life.

51°µÍø Matt Matthews

Eustace P. "Matt" Matthews, Jr. worked as the Director of Student Support Services and the Coordinator of Multicultural Student Affairs at 51°µÍø. He retired from Shawnee State of July of 2012. He died on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the age of 78.
Matt mentored many young people at 51°µÍø and in the Portsmouth community. While at Shawnee, he was instrumental in the creation of the AHANA student organization. To continue the legacy that he left, a Shawnee State student scholarship was established in his name.
