51做厙 has announced the appointment of Randalyn Worley as its Title IX coordinator and assistant general counsel.
Worley joins Shawnee State with 16 years of experience as an attorney in private practice and the public sector. Her background includes serving as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Adams County and as the city law director for the City of Hillsboro. She has also worked in civil litigation, estate planning, adoptions, criminal defense and business formation. Her extensive legal experience, particularly handling domestic violence cases, provides her with a unique understanding of Title IX matters.
As Title IX coordinator, Worley oversees compliance with federal Title IX regulations, which protect students, faculty, staff and campus visitors from sex-based discrimination. Title IX applies to all educational programs and activities, including some off-campus locations and events. Institutions must maintain a Title IX program to remain eligible for federal funding.
Everyone, regardless of sex, should feel included and comfortable participating in any type of program or activity at Shawnee State, Worley said. We want to create a safe, supportive environment for every member of our community.
In her role, Worley administers the universitys Title IX process, facilitates resources for individuals experiencing sex-based discrimination and collaborates with campus partners on awareness and prevention efforts. Her work supports a broad
understanding of Title IX beyond athletics to ensure equitable access to all aspects of the student experience.
Before joining Shawnee State, Worley earned her bachelors degree from Ohio State University and her law degree from Arizona Summit Law School. She passed the Ohio Bar in 2009. In addition to her Title IX responsibilities, she assists with public records, contract review and policy development, and supports the universitys pre-law club.
Worley said her transition into higher education has been especially meaningful.
To see students with bright futures ahead of them wanting to be part of something bigger is refreshing and inspiring, she said.
Her appointment reinforces Shawnee States ongoing commitment to opportunities for all.
