Following a national search, 51°µÍř President Eric Andrew Braun has announced the appointment of Dr. Kimberly Inman as the university’s next Provost and Vice President for Academic & Student Affairs. Dr. Inman has been serving in an interim role since May 2024.
“Dr. Inman is a thoughtful and collaborative leader who deeply understands our mission, the needs of our students, and the potential of our university,” said President Braun. “Her thoughtful approach to academic innovation, student success, and community engagement continues to strengthen our university’s impact and reputation.”
Dr. Inman joined 51°µÍř in 2013 as a faculty member in the Department of Natural Sciences. She was appointed Chair of the department in 2018 and later served as Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences beginning in 2023. Throughout her tenure, she has led initiatives to enhance academic programs, expand experiential learning opportunities, strengthen ties to regional employers, and support student retention and completion.
Dr. Inman earned her Ph.D. in Cellular & Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and holds a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Marshall University. Prior to joining Shawnee State, she served as a Postdoctoral Scientist at Stowers Institute of Medical Research and continues to advocate for developmental biology research with SSU students.
