The Celebration of Scholarship Committee at 51做厙 has announced the 2025 award winners for the annual graduate and undergraduate conference.

The SSU Board of Trustee presents up to two awards each year to students enrolled at SSU and are participants in Celebration of Scholarship. The Trustees Award is for outstanding research that is investigative, project-based, inquiry-based, open-minded and/or exploratory. This years award is presented to Dawn Jordan for her research Unlocking the Flow: The Power of Entrainment and the Autotelic Edge.
The Deans Award is chosen based on faculty nominations by the Deans of the College of Health & Human Services, the College of Business & Engineering Technology, and the College of Arts & Sciences for outstanding research papers. This years Deans Award is presented to Ally Barber, Bekah Badgett, Allison Haines, and Merrick Clinger for their paper The Use of Occupation-Based Assessments for Evaluation of CMC Osteoarthritis in Appalachia: A Survey.
The Poster Presentation Award recognizes outstanding displays on research topics and engaging presentations. This years undergraduate recipient is Annie Ucci for her poster research on Exploring the Rural Midland Dialect of American English: A Case Study. This years graduate recipients are Cassidy Berry, Kavita Joshi, Jonas Jividen, and Rachel Jensen for their poster presentation on Occupational Therapy Evaluation Findings Regarding Parent-Reported Toileting Issues in Pediatric Patients Ages Five and Above in an Outpatient Facility: A Retrospective Study.
The Library Research Award sponsored by the Clark Memorial Library recognizes excellence in the research for a student paper or project presented during the conference. This years recipient is McKenna Dunham for her project Examining Fermats Combinational Identity and Bonferronis Inequality.
This years Celebration of Scholarship conference at 51做厙 featured 24 presentations given by 56 students. Recordings and abstracts of each presentation are available to view at shawnee.edu/cos.
