51做厙 has announced the 2025 Faculty Awards. As part of this years presentation, the recipient of the Board of Trustees Distinguished Teaching Award is Dr. Jodi Dunham. An Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Programs in the universitys School of Education, Dr. Dunham has been with the university since 2015.
Dr. Dunhams teaching style has been described as engaging and rigorous, said SSU President Eric Andrew Braun while presenting the award during this years Spring Commencement ceremony. Students have noticed that while her standards are high, she is always willing to mentor and encourage them to meet her high expectations.
In addition to her role in the classroom, Dr. Dunham is the Director of the Graduate Programs for the School of Education, overseeing the online graduate programs in Curriculum & Instruction and Intervention Specialist, as well as several graduate licensure programs. She has served on several university committees including the Student Affairs Committee, Educational Policy & Curriculum Committee, Faculty Assessment & Accreditation Committee, and Teaching & Learning Committee, among others. She has also been active with the Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics South District and Ohio AYA Mathematics State Program, and has presented her research and work at several industry conferences.
I am deeply grateful to be recognized with the Distinguished Teaching Award and to be included among the outstanding educators who have received it previously, said Dr. Dunham. Each day, I have the privilege of watching my students grow into the kind of teachers our future needs passionate, thoughtful, and resilient. Their dedication inspires me to keep learning, growing, and striving to be the kind of professor they deserve.
Dr. Dunham received her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Rio Grande in 1997 before completing her Master of Education in Classroom Teaching from the same institution in 2000. In 2008, she received her Ph.D. in Education Leadership & Systems with a concentration in Mathematics Education from Union Institute & University.
The SSU Board of Trustees Distinguished Teaching Award is presented to an instructor who makes a significant impact on their students by engaging with them in a meaningful way while providing excellent teaching and contributions to higher education.
